Volunteers needed for spring Invitational

Our annual competition is fast approaching. Like all club events, we rely on our membership to volunteer their time in order to make this competition a success. If you can spare an hour or two working the competition on Friday May 21st and/or Saturday May 22nd, please notify Bonnie Rockhill (rockhill4@verizon.net) . If you've never volunteered before, are a new club member, or are new to the sport of figure skating, this is a great way to meet fellow club members and learn more about this wonderful sport.

All volunteers should plan to attend a volunteer training session on Thursday, May 20th at 5:45 p.m. We will have instructions on how to do your volunteer job as well as how to work equipment (walkie talkies, music playing, announcing, etc.). If you cannot attend the volunteer session, please notify us and we will make alternative arrangements if possible. Please note it is important that we all get together because we are using the IJS system which means more computers located at the rink and some of our procedures need to be changed slightly.

If you can't volunteer at the competition, perhaps you could help with the volunteer hospitality room by donating food; Friday night - we need dinner type food, beverages, and snacks and Saturday - we need breakfast food, lunch food, dinner food, beverages, and plenty of snacks to get us through the day!

A reminder about Coach Registration

In order to coach a skater at a US Figure Skating (USFS) sanctioned event, a coach must be registered with USFS and their name must appear on the list of registered coaches. All skaters, parents, and coaches should verify the coach registration on the USFS web site. When our club manages a USFS sanctioned event, such as a test session or competition, we are required by USFS to verify that all coaches are registered and that their name appears on this list. We are also required to check coach credentials and a photo ID at the event. The intent of coach registration is for the protection of the skaters, the rink hosting an event, the club hosting an event, and US Figure Skating.

Thank you for helping us protect our skaters, club, facility, and US Figure Skating.
